A guide to understanding your coverage and filing claims
Understanding how to access your MASA Assist benefits will help you get the most out of your coverage. Whatever emergency medical transport situation you may experience, knowing what your plan covers and how to file a claim can make all the difference in getting the support you need when you need it most.
How does it work?
MASA Assist is here for you with coverage that supports you both during and after your emergency. Whether you’re activating a benefit or filing a claim, we make it easy to access your coverage.
How can MASA Assist coverage help during an emergency?
In-the-moment benefits are designed to provide timely and effective service in a high-pressure situation, when receiving prompt medical attention is the ultimate goal. If possible, you or your family can notify your physician of your MASA benefit, in the event that these services are deemed medically necessary for your care.
Some examples of this type of benefit:
Emergency air transportation
MASA Assist will arrange to fly a member to the nearest appropriate medical facility capable of providing needed treatment when the member needs specialized emergency treatment not available locally.
Ground ambulance transportation
MASA Assist will arrange ground ambulance transfers between hospitals and airports during a member’s emergency air transport.
Facility transfer
MASA Assist will arrange to fly a hospitalized member home to recuperate in familiar surroundings.
Patient return transportation
MASA Assist will arrange to fly a member home after they have been hospitalized for inpatient care away from home.
How can MASA Assist coverage help after an emergency?
